Services

Pharmacy services offered at ALL our pharmacies:

Dispensing Prescriptions

We dispense both NHS and Private prescriptions and keep up to date records of all prescriptions we supply.

Whenever you bring in a new prescription for us to dispense our computer system will check its suitability and safety with all the other prescription medication that you have had from our Pharmacy in the past.

Also the label on the medication will remind you of the precautions that you should take such as ‘avoiding alcohol’ or ‘not driving if you feel drowsy’.

NHS Patient Medication Reviews

In partnership with the NHS we run special sessions to help patients to understand their medication better.

The pharmacist can discuss all aspects of your drug therapy with you with the aim of improving your health and maximizing the benefit you receive from your medication.

To arrange an appointment to meet with the pharmacist please contact the pharmacy directly.

NHS New Medicines Service

If you are prescribed a new medicine from a selection of higher risk medications our pharmacist can provide you with one to one support when you collect your prescription for the first time and follow up support after a few weeks.

Free Prescription Collection Service

If you are registered with a local Doctor's Surgery we can collect your repeat prescriptions from the surgery and dispense your medication for you, ready for collection at the pharmacy.

We aim to have all prescriptions ready for collection within 72 hours of you ordering the prescription from the doctor's surgery.

If you would like to use this free service please download, print and complete the consent form below and return it to the pharmacy or please ask at the pharmacy counter to provide you with a paper copy for you to complete.

Confidential Help & Advice

In the pharmacy there is a private consulting room where you can talk to any member of staff about any aspect of your healthcare. If you would like to discuss any issues in private with our pharmacy staff please ask to use the consulting room.

The pharmacist and the trained staff are always happy and willing to provide advice on any healthcare issues or provide information and guidance on healthy lifestyles & health improvement.

All the staff have been trained on the importance of confidentiality.

Emergency Supplies of Prescription Medication

We may be able to help if you need a prescription medicine in a genuine emergency when it is impossible to get to your doctor. However this service is outside the NHS and there will be a charge for the medicines supplied. A supply of emergency medication is at the professional discretion of the pharmacist on duty.

Unwanted Medication

Do Not Hoard Old or Out of Date Medicines. Please return to the pharmacy all unused medicines for us to dispose of safely. The Pharmacy can only accept unwanted and out of date medication. We have no facility to collect needles. These items should be returned to your Doctor’s surgery.

Please do not dispose of medication by any other routes (e.g. flushing down the toilet or putting them in the bin), as this can be extremely dangerous.
This service is funded by the NHS.

Medicine Containers

To help elderly or confused people take their medication correctly we can recommend special containers marked with daily doses. We sell these containers for carers to fill or we can provide a managed system, filled weekly or monthly as indicated on the prescription, by us at the Pharmacy.

We put all medicines in child resistant containers unless you ask us not to. This does not mean that they are childproof, no medicine container is.
